I took my daughter on a “nature walk” this afternoon. A favorite pastime–observing the things around her, collecting special treasures to make art. She paused often, to whip out her Hello Kitty notebook and draw a tree, rock or leaf.
In typical Gen X fashion, Mummy photographed the day–but the images felt contrived.
Eden asked if she could experiment. I handed over my iPhone, with the proviso she avoid rocks or water. Playing with the myriad Instagram filters, she had free reign to capture whatever caught her attention.
Life seen through the eyes of a five year old. Spontaneous. Whimsical. Real.
